Why I don't make New Years resolutions!

Just kidding, this is not a document outlining my plan for world domination, but is infact me touching base with all of you that are still here about my plans for this blog in 2016!

I know 2015 has been scarce at best, I apologise for this but I needed the time to get into the mental headspace to be able to approach this again. If you’re reading this, thanks for standing by me!

Anyway, my plan for 2016 with this blog is to have weekly blog posts instead of daily. During 2014 and earlier I was very strict about posting each day but I felt like a lot of the time I didn’t have anything interesting to say and for the most part did not have any exciting outfits to show you. I have decided that the route to go from here on in is quality over quantity and I would prefer to post once a week regarding many different topics, not just OOTD’s! I have grown so much in 2015 regarding my interests and would love to be able to use this blog as another way to share my life with you more than just OOTD’s and letting you know what happened on a day to day basis.

I hope 2015 has been good to you all and I look forward to writing to you all soon!

The Last Few Months

Hey Lovelies,

I thought I would give you all a little update on why posts have been so late on this blog and so few and far between. As some of you know, if you are regular readers, I was diagnosed as having Bipolar II in October last year. Since then it has been a rollercoaster of medication adjustments, mood swings and general feeling crappiness, add a broken ankle in there and you have perfect conditions to exacerbate the depression I had been feeling.

I attempted to keep this blog up and running at first, I really did try to stay on top of it but the more and more I left it, the harder it seemed to catch up on posts. So now, I am about 6 weeks behind in posts - I have still been diligently taking photos of my outfits but I have no real interest on writing six weeks worth of updates to catch up to where I should be.

Instead I am going to start from March - I am not sure if I should put all of the outfits up from the last six weeks or not, I think I may just go through and put up the ones that I particularly liked, or had new items in them.

I am so sorry for how behind I have gotten here but my health comes first - I will try my hardest to get on top of this blog and update as regularly as I used to but to be honest there are some days where I can barely get out of my own head - let alone sit down and write about how my day has been, because more often than not they have been pretty crappy. I am working on that too!

I hope you all understand, I love you all and I always feel so grateful when people start following me and leave me comments and messages.

I feel so greatful that so many of you have come on this little journey with me and I hope that for all of your sakes that I can pull my shit together to make this something worth reading!

OOTD : 15th January, 2015 - Show Time!

Today I stayed in bed pretty late before getting ready to go out. The complex we live in was having a get-to-know-your-neighbours night so I went over to that for dinner before heading out to the hills to photograph the band that I am currently employed with.

I have been feeling pretty anxious about it all day, I am yet to meet the band and I have only been speaking to the lead singer - Because I have yet to meet them I don’t know what to expect and what they expect from me in terms of what sort of images they would like. 

Really making me anxious, I want to be able to capture them the way that they feel they are and the thought of disappointing them is making me put heaps of pressure on myself.

Fingers crossed it goes alright!

I don’t have to be there until around 10pm for an hour which means that I pretty much had the whole day to myself, now they are my kind of work hours!

I had to drive tonight, which is why the boot is not on! Funny thing though, my ankle doesn’t actually hurt, I have had sprains that have felt much worse than this - Its so tempting to keep the boot off!

Also, the gig went alright. Once I got started it went super quickly and I was on the ball. I had my tripod with me and the band were recording themselves but forgot the attachment to their tripod so I felt useful, and hopefully looked professional and prepared to them!

OOTD : 13th January, 2015 - Enrollment Stress

Today my classes for university were able to be enrolled into for next semester. I stupidly elected to change from secondary teaching to primary teaching thinking that I would finish my degree earlier. Turns out, I wouldn’t, I would just have a few semesters with only one or two units to complete, boo. Now I have to get back onto an academic advisor to change back to secondary.

I am about to start the fourth year of my degree and I am still not going to finish until 2017 - There is no such thing as a four year undergraduate degree apparently, they just tell you it is until you’re in too deep!

Boo.

I am a little frustrated because I have been at uni for so long already, its going to be at least six years at uni all up once I finish.. Hello university debt!

Today I also began getting ready for my first photography job ever. Mainly just charging up batteries and emptying memory cards, I also made sure that all my lenses were packed and all that fun stuff, I am really nervous about it… Eek! I also practiced doing my makeup to look edgy and professional instead of me rocking up looking tired and unprepared! The things we do!

OOTD : 12th January, 2015 - Selling

Today mostly consisted of me pickiing some clothes out of my wardrobe to sell to make room for the things that I have recently purchased, I am quickly running out of room and I don’t wear a lot of it anyway.

Let me know if any of you from Australia are interested in buying some things from my wardrobe and I will set up a sale for you!

I have things in my wardrobe that I have had for years and have never taken the tag off, I have problems!

I know I do, my mum keeps telling me the same thing! Ha.

In other oh-so-exciting news, today has been a little chilly. I went with mum to a doctors appointment and was a little surprised that I had to break out the winter leggings for the trip..

OOTD : 11th January, 2015 - Le Tired

Today I woke up feeling pretty tired and all round rotten. I know repairing a bone is supposed to be tiring work but I have hit the point now where it is beginning to wear me out even when I am not doing anything. Blergh, getting rid of this boot and being a mobile person again cannot come fast enough!

I have plenty of stuff to get done for uni this week which isn’t helpful. Being tired means my concentration levels have plummeted and I would be happy if I didn’t have that to think about as well. In other news, I have my first photography job in a few days, I an photographing a band named Piperlain as well as doing there social media stuff.

Its unfortunate that I will be in the boot when I meet them and have my first day of work with them but I am going to have to power through it! They don’t play untill late at night so the hours will suit me just fine!

10pm start, don’t mind if I do!

OOTD : 14th January, 2015 - Another Day

Today I had a very uneventful day, I don’t know why any of you read this blog anymore! It seems to be the same shit, different day! As you have probably realised by now, the weeks that I have my orthopedic boot on are going to be fairly uneventful due to the lowered mobility. 

Any day I make it out of the house should be considered a special occasion for the time being, sorry!

OOTD : 10th January, 2015 - Home Hangs

Today I spent my day at home since I am still relatively immobile. Getting up and getting dressed at the moment is a win in itself, without doing anything else for the rest of the day.

Getting up and dressed also exhausts me enough that I usually don’t feel like doing anything afterwards anyway!

What I Got For Christmas & December Haul

Here is my haul for the month of December, including what I got for Christmas!

Pistacio Beach Towel

I do not have a photo of this and I am in too much pain to go and take one, if you would like to see it check out the video! Its sort of a tradition that we all get beach towels every year because back in the day we used to be at the beach most weekends and we were always losing beach towels to emergency helicopters and stuff. So we always tend to get them, they're awesome stocking stuffers!

Ball Head Tripod

Ball head tripod, nothing really to say about this except that I bought in in order to take photos of the New Years fireworks in Sydney. There is only so much you can do to keep your camera steady while in bulb mode before you succumb to buying a tripod.. Although, sitting on the ground in the city with my camera sitting on the ground was clearly one of my finer moments!

Tamron SP AF17-50mm f/2.8

I got a job as a photographer for a small band in Sydney and after reading tonnes of reviews on camera lenses and confusing myself I went for this one. It's super fast and sharp, without image stabilisation though so I don't plan on using this for video or anything. Pretty good in low light, I do realise now that I have used it that I needed something with a longer zoom, so I may sell this very soon for a lens with a longer range!

A very sturdy lens though, I'm sure many of you with DSLR's would benefit from adding it to your kit!

Canon 50mm f/1.4

 I have been interested in purchasing a nifty-fifty since purchasing my camera. It was a recommendation to save a bit more and splurge on the f/1.4 instead of the f/1.8. I am yet to properly use this though, I have been mucking around with it in the house but I am yet to take it out for a spin!

iMac - Mid 2011, 1TB HD & 8GB RAM

I have been looking at upgrading to a desktop for a long time and when I saw this one advertised online I went for it. I needed to send my MacBook Pro in for a logic board repair so I purchased this and migrated all my crap over to it and then sent my laptop on for repairs. 

I think I use this more often that I use my laptop.. Although the laptop has been handy since I have been off my feet with a broken ankle but I much prefer to sit at a desk and get my shit done!

Another item I do not have a photo of, look it up if you're interested! I love the feeling I get when I use sea salt spray but dislike the drying of my hair and the tackiness. This is a perfect spray to make your hair look dishevelled but isn't tacky and doesn't dry my hair out as much as sea salt spray!

I have not been comfortable with putting earphones in my ear after the ear-in-pool incident. So I saw these on clearance and just got them. Nothing else to say really, they do their job!

If you read my blog, you will know that I have some beef with Forever 21 and their lack of return policy and stupid exchange policy. I love these leggings which I got after exchanging a couple of items but I will not shop there until their policies become better.. Or until they get the plus size line in store over here! Seriously Forever 21, get your shit together!

Another item with no photo, I have gotten bad. I completely forgot that this was a part of the haul and have not photographed it. What I can say is that this is an awesome product and really gives my lashes length and volume. Considering I have super light eyelashes, any length and volume a product can give me makes me happy.

I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, one of my favourite products ever!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner - Trooper

Yep, another without a photo. Isn't anything special though, just a felt tip eyeliner!  have also used this, I am a little on the fence about it. I like it and I find it much easier to apply than anything else I have tried and its much less temperamental than Benefit's Push Up Liner. The cost is a little hard to swallow though and I don't think I am going to use it enough to make it worth my money..

We shall see though, I am trying to be better about putting makeup on when I go out for special occasions, I used to only just out on mascara and some lip stain. Now going for a little eyeliner as well!

Australis AC ON TOUR Contour Kit

I should have a photo of this, it has become one of the most sought after products in Australia at the moment. Considered to be a dupe of the Anastasia Contour Kit. I was lucky enough to pick up one of these and then a second one. I think it is super pigmented and the powder is super fine and blend-able but the shades are quite dark for my skin tone and there is probably only one contour shade I can  use, and still then I would have to be very careful about how much I used. 

A steal for under twenty bucks though!

City Chic It Girl Jacket

If you don't know the story behind this jacket, its on my blog and I also explain it in my haul video. For the sake of being non-repetitive I am not going to repeat it here! Just know that it took me a lot of debate to get this for a reduced price! The jacket is beautiful though, and so versatile because  you can unzip the bottom so it becomes a cropped jacket. I am sure I will be wearing this plenty in the cooler months!

When I was at the outlet purchasing the jacket above I saw this and was super tempted to pay the money for it but didn't. I am glad I didn't succumb to the urge of buying it because a week later it was on sale! Life works in mysterious ways doesn't it!

It is just like the horse tunic that I have and adore, I did get a large though because the arm holes on this one seem much smaller and were high up under my arms which I don't like due to having hyperhidrosis! Those who sweat a lot like me would understand!

This top is a little big, but when I wore a different bra with it than my normal one the buttons kept popping open. I will probably sew it closed to avoid any further wardrobe malfunctions in the future!

Otherwise, a super nice top that is comfy and appropriate to wear for so many different things!

OOTD Fail : 9th January, 2015 - Whoops

Today I spent the day at home by myself because my mum and sister were out at work. I enjoyed the peace thoroughly and managed to edit my December and Christmas Haul which will be up very shortly.

I also did have an OOTD picture but deleted it when I had to clear my memory card, it was only a crochet beach dress that I wore - nothing special.

OOTD : 8th January, 2015 - Crutchless

Today I went out for the first time without my crutches, I was supposed to be using them until Saturday but they were a real pain in the neck and I figured that if I didn't overdo it, I should be okay. We all ended up at the shops, I probably did a little too much walking but it was so nice to leave the house again - Even better that I didn't take crutches, it wasn't as tiring just walking in my boot.

I am, however, feeling a little under the weather. I think I may be coming down with something and I felt a little light-headed and dizzy for a lot of the day. It was also a pretty warm day as well, so it could of been that too.

OOTD : 7th January, 2015 - Pooped

Today I slept until lunch time and then stayed in my room until the power cut out at 1pm. Power was restored at 3pm and I could not have been happier. House arrest is pretty boring without electricity for entertainment. I instead had a lukewarm bath because it was a hot day and my fan couldn't be on without electricity.. Obviously!

Once mum got home from work we had dinner and then the people I used to live with came to visit to make sure I still had a leg and then I pretty much crawled up to my room. I watched the new episode of PLL and attempted to curl my hair, which didn't last very long, before getting into bed for nigh-nighs.

Seriously, I overdid myself yesterday. My ankle throbbed all night and has been pretty off and on all day! My mum and sister will be out tomorrow for a bit so I am hopeful that my December and Christmas Sale hauls will be filmed, although I am waiting for some more stuff but I think I will just put that into my January haul!

I also had a fiddle around with my 50mm lens today.. I like it, just not when the shot is of me!
