OOTD : 28th October, 2014 - Playgroup & Old Friends

Today I decided to go to playgroup for the first time in a while so I got up super early and had a bath beforehand.. It was really nice to be honest, and Cathie brought Annie and Josiah down from the mountains so it was so good to see them and Josiah remembered who I was and gave me lots of cuddles. I left early though because I wasn't coping with the excess noise, a typical reaction when I am feeling a little overwhelmed.

This afternoon we went to pick up my sisters lay-by from City Chic and mum ended up paying for it, it came to over $400 so I decided to take it upon myself to get mum to buy me a couple of things as well, although mine was well under $100 - all up mum spent $520 at City Chic..

I desperately needed a brow wax and tint, since I have been waxing my brows myself for a while I decided it was time to get them done properly again so I can then just maintain and the tint is honestly just so I could see them, and so the person waxing could see them.. Haha!

Anyway, the wax and tint are great and I also got roped into getting a Push Up Liner since I was at the Benefit Brow Bar - I ended up getting the They're Real Mascara that had a trial version of the Push Up Liner for free with it, I am terrible at eyeliner though and I don't think this product is going to miraculously turn me into a pro! Believe me, I have practised a lot and I still manage to screw it up pretty much every time!

Tunic : City Chic

Shoes : ??? Super old! I also just realised that one of my feet is a good size bigger than the other!

Brow game strong! Well, stronger than it was! I have super sensitive skin though so getting waxed and plucked within an inch of my life was not the most pleasant experience, I always forget how much it hurts when someone else does it!

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 27th October, 2014 - Naps and Netball Games

Today I went and did the grocery shopping for mum this morning because she had to go to work this afternoon and we desperately needed food - We didn't even have bread or milk for breakfast, sad times. Anyway, once mum had gone to work in the afternoon I thought it was a fantastic idea to have a nap from 4pm until 5pm - which ended up being 6pm.

I then had to rush to watch a friend play netball because it started at six and I had to walk and it was super hot and I just was not enjoying the great outdoors.. Anyway, I made it and then came home to where I am now wide awake and desperately wanting to go to sleep except I can't because I had a nap.

Never again!

Anyway I am going to leave it at that and limit my time in front of the computer before I reattempt going to bed.. I hope you have all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 26th October, 2014 - Another Day, Another Party!

Today we had to get up early to make the three hour car trip to another party for my mums cousin - To be honest, if I could avoid it I would have! We didn't get back from my aunts until after midnight and I didn't sleep all that well..

The three hour car trip was tolerable.. Barely! I also managed to get sunburnt in the car, the joys of being the whitest thing since sliced bread!

We got there and my mums aunt was in the foulest mood because she was trying so hard to impress people that when pretty much everything went to shit she blamed everyone but herself. She also demanded that I take photos after she had a go at me about all of the things that had gone wrong today - After she demanded that there was no negativity today.. Talk about a double standard!

Family, makes you hate them enough to want to kill them sometimes!

Jumpsuit : City Chic

Anyway, I am ready for bed and it is still super hot - Summer is going to be the worst, especially when we are already having days that are over thirty degrees in Spring... Boo!

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 25th October, 2014 - Back to the 80's

Today we got up and took my cousin to the beach because it was super warm, the water however, was super cold so I didn't end up going for a swim.. Although part of me wishes I was game enough to.

After we got back to my nan and pops we had some lunch and I took my cousin to the shops with my sister and I for some last minute stuff for my aunts party tonight before we came back and had a nap to kill time. Forster is literally so boring that I had to take a nap to pass the time! Anyway, once we all woke up we had to get ready and go, let me tell you the 80's were not a kind decade - I guess back in the 80's global warming had not turned the climate into what it is today - I was dying in my costume, it was so hot!

The party was good, the food was delicious but I have a sore shoulder from being official camera lady for the night - at the insistence of my aunt, even though she was super nasty about me having a camera when I took it out yesterday, boo!

Okay, that was a lot of clothing for one day! It rained a bit at the party and cooled down a lot so I was glad I kept the tights and jacket on and with me.. Although, I was majorly sweaty until the cold change came through.. Was that too much information?

The theme for the party was 80's and I went down the 80's grunge route - Do you think I pulled it off?

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day!

The HSC? ATARS? University? Some Home Truths + My Experience

I decided to film this video because I know that for those of you in Australia, you are currently doing your HSC exams and are probably mighty stressed about what happens afterwards. I am here to let you know that even though you might not get the marks you want, you can still do all of the things you aspired to do!

The HSC is not the only pathway to university if that is what you want - If you have the determination to do something, you can and will do it! My story proves just that and there are so many people out there with stories like mine!

I should of mentioned in my video that my brother also did not complete his HSC, instead he did an apprenticeship and is now in university studying construction management.. Of me and my two siblings, the only one of us that actually finished the HSC has not gone to university!

Take everything your teachers tell you about ATARs with a grain of salt - its their jobs to tell you that the HSC is one of the most important things you will do in your life even though it isn't necessarily true!

If you would prefer to watch the video on the YouTube site you can click here, as usual!

My three main tips are :
1. Your ATAR does not define your success in the HSC - It is merely a ranking of you vs. your cohort.
2. There are other pathways to university - Look into them if you are concerned you wont get in with your HSC marks!
3. Don't go to university because everyone else is and you feel like its expected!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy - and for those of you who are doing your HSC, I hope you found this helpful and good luck!

OOTD : 24th October, 2014 - Travelling

Today my sister and I got up at an ungodly hour to get the train to Newcastle to meet mum where she had been having her uni exams. We got there and walked across the road from the station and there she was driving towards us beeping - that woman has perfect timing!

After that we went out to lunch and then headed off to Forster in the cars - another two hour trip. I fell asleep for half of it and felt like a hot mess when we got there! Anyway, we saw my cousins - we were suppossed to have dinner at my nan and pops but my uncle chucked a whoopie and made us go there, when we got there we realised it was because he wanted my help with a computer problem - which I had said on the way I was not in the appropriate headspace to deal with, I directed him to read the prompt on the computer properly and he figured it out.. Its amazing what reading can do!

Anyway, we left pretty soon after that - my aunt and uncle are so hard to deal with! My aunt looked at me when I got my DSLR out to take some photos of the kids like I had bought a rocketship and then continued to badger me about the cost of it - last time I checked, she was the one with the reckless spending habits, not be! Besides, its not her money, therefore its none of her business! Also, shes the one who has two of everything and buys crap from infomercials, the DSLR was a decision I made after a long think about whether I would use it and then waiting until the time was right financially instead of screwing myself over financially!

Blergh.

OOTD : 23rd October, 2014 - Headaches and Car Crashes

This morning I was rudely awoken at 4:45am with the worst headache I have ever experienced in my life - that is not an exaggeration either! Pretty sure the U.S. had invaded my head to drill for oil or something, it was painful! I went downstairs to get some painkillers and because by then the sedatives in my system were well and truly in effect I was a sloppy mess down the stairs to get them, at one point I didn't think I was going to survive the journey!

Once I made it back in bed I was so disorientated and nauseous with a serious case of washing machine brain - which is what I call when you're still but your brain makes you feel like you're moving. After the painkillers kicked in all was good!

I got up at 9am to go to ESL and was feeling super good about the day - my headache had cleared and I was running early, until a guy ran up the back of me at a stop sign!

So basically, the person in front of me went through, so I pulled up to the line but the guy behind me assumed that I would go straight through without stopping and he ran up the back of me because he was looking to see if the traffic was clear instead of where he was going! I could see him not looking in my rear vision mirror.

Get this though, he had the nerve to blame me because I didn't run a stop sign - last time I checked, you legally had to stop at stop signs. It didn't help that there was a cop in our street, as if I would run through a stop sign while there was a cop car about 50 metres back!

Frustrating really! My sister and I were fine, I have a bit of a sore back but nothing really to worry about - my car has a nice dent in the back and the back bumper got pushed into my back drivers side wheel so it was scrubbing every time I turned a corner.. I have since pulled that back to avoid puncturing a tyre. Mum is going to deal with insurance and stuff once we are back from out weekend away!

Thank goodness for mothers who are happy to deal with insurers for you!

Bless her!

Anyway, after all of that, I made it to ESL - left early because I wasn't feeling great and proceeded to finish packing to go away. It was also hot enough that my sister and I went to the pool this afternoon, it was super nice - I am getting that headache back though, fingers crossed I sleep okay!

I hope you all had a much less frustrating day than I had! I hope you are all well!

OOTD : 22nd October, 2014 - Class & Trivia

Today I was super productive all morning even though I didn't sleep very well. I got myself into such a rush of productivity that I nearly forgot to go to class, instead I had about 5 minutes to get ready and be out the door to get there in time! My bad!

After class I went home and got my sister and we went into trivia for the evening, had dinner there and I couldn't decide what I wanted so I got two things... Again, my bad! After dinner we went to Messina and got some delicious gelato and went home where we went to bed pretty much straight away!

OOTD : 21st October, 2014 - Time With Mum & The Domestic Goddess Within

Today my sister was at wok so I took the opportunity to spend a bit of time with mum by myself before she went off to Newcastle for her uni exams and stuff this afternoon. We ended up at the shops, we always do - I took her to H&M and she bought me the cutest crop top, we were looking for some 80's themed stuff for a party we have to go to on the weekend. My mum and sister are going down the typical fluro route but I have decided to go down the 80's grunge route since a lot of my wardrobe pieces can be used for it.

Hopefully it all works out - I want to find a bandana to wear before Saturday, I have seen one at my local shops so I might just but it!

Anyway, after I dropped mum off to the train station to go  back to Newcastle I came home, cooked a lasagna from scratch with some garlic bread and had dinner on the table just as my sister walked in from work and while I cooked I also managed to unpack the dishwasher, clean the dishes from cooking and vacuum the kitchen. We pretty much had dinner, watched a bit of television, both had baths and we are both now in bed - pretty normal for her, but its pretty early for me to be in bed!

I wore a hat to try and distract from the fact that even though I am sleeping pretty well, I still look like crap - super pale with dark circles under my eyes and I am breaking out like nothing else.. I also have super dry patches on my eyelids that are super red.. Yep, I'm a looker!

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 20th October, 2014 - Spoke Too Soon

So you know how yesterday I wrote how nice the weather had been? Well, today it wasn't so nice! I left for class this morning at 9:30 this morning while it was cloudy but still pretty warm - when I came out of class it had dropped about ten degrees and was raining and windy.. Not fun considering I walked to uni and had not really dressed appropriately enough!

Anyway, after I got back from uni I just hung about at home - I didn't have to go look after the kids because I got a text this morning saying they no longer required my services which I am sort of relieved about because it means that I can have some sort of a life on those evenings instead of going over for two hours for barely any money!

I had a nap this afternoon - probably not the brightest idea but the weather was so miserable that I couldn't help myself!

OOTD : 19th October, 2014 - Belly Rubs & Broken Shoes

Today we decided to venture out to the Northern Beaches for the day because mum has a friend that lives up that way. By the time we had left home it was past midday so our first stop was lunch, we ended up at the local shopping centre for lunch because eating at the beach is an expensive exercise!

The shopping centre we went to had some super nice shops though so we ended up looking at all of the stores before we left and purchased a few things, including one of my christmas gifts from my mum - a beach towel, tends to be something we get every year because we ruin them like nothing else!

After the shops we dropped into mums friends place and they have a new dog who is the cutest thing ever! She liked me because I would pat her so she kept coming back and butting her head onto my lap and lick me until I patted her - ahhh so cute!

I also wore my new overalls (one of the pairs) that I purchased yesterday! I have an even lighter pair and I am not sure which ones to make darker!

In a disappointing turn of events, I managed to break my shoes so that the straps had pulled from its glue and now I need to take it somewhere to be fixed. Boo!

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful day! The weather has been pretty kind to us lately!

OOTD : 18th October, 2014 - Festivities

Today I got up quite early to head into Marrickville to go to the last Round She Goes Vintage Fashion Market of the year. I went in the hope that I would find some overalls and I was not disappointed - Came home with two pairs of overalls that fit much better than anything around these days, I also bought a couple of rings that I shared with my sister!

After that I headed on home to see what my mum and sister were up to and we decided to go to Eastwood for the Granny Smith Festival which is held annually. We did plan on staying for the fireworks but we got there with around 6 hours before the fireworks started and we were pretty tired after walking around for a couple of hours so we headed on home before they started. We purchased a few little trinkets and stuff but the food was to die for!

Also, there was a drug dog on the platform of the train station on our way back, I am pretty sure I could of watched it sniff around all day - It was so cute!

OOTD : 17th October, 2014 - Beaches and Boredom

Today I got up super late because I didn't go to bed until pretty late last night and these new meds have been knocking me out. Once I did get up mum was heading off to work soon so my sister and I jumped in the car and headed off to the beach with my new camera to take some snaps!

I also went to the place where I buy my hair oil from in the Northern Beaches because its heaps cheaper and I was pretty much out of it. I also went to look after the kids and I was told that she was going to cancel because she had hurt her shoulder which meant I stupidly came back from the beach in a rush when I could of stayed out, boo! When we came home my sister had some leftovers for dinner and I didn't have anything because I made a pig of myself at lunch (which we had at 3pm).

Tonight I have just washed my hair and had a bath, raise the roof!

Haha.

My sister took these pictures, claps to her, she mastered autofocus! Haha!
