OOTD Fail : 23rd July, 2013 - Curlformers

I said I was going to film a Curlformers tutorial for you even though it may not interest some of you and I decided to keep it until this week because of how busy I am at work. Today, however, I thought I would write a text post about the product with some pictures I did not put in my tutorial video.

Curlformers are a product made my Hair Flair and are used to curl hair with or without heat. I was introduced to these in 2010 when I was looking into ways I could style my hair with no heat and they have not disappointed me. Basically, the are tubes made with a mesh that are then spiralled. You put a hook through the tube and hook your hair and pull it through the curler where your hair dries and forms perfect curls.

Curlformers come in many different lengths and three widths, narrow, wide and extra wide. I have the wide and extra wide set.

Length comparison.
Left to Right : Extra long & extra wide, super long & wide and extra long & wide.

Width comparison.
Extra long and super wide width.

Width comparison.
Super long and wide width.

Hook that snaps together.

The curlers come in super handy carry bags to help when you want to use them. It keeps them all in one place and they are easy to travel with. The carry case also includes instructions.

When you remove Curlformers you have perfect curls... Most of the time.

Curls made with extra long and extra wide Curlformers.

In terms of staying power I definitely prefer the wide width instead of the extra wide width. The extra wide curls do drop much faster than the wide, I am able to get 3+ days of wear with the wide ones but only 1 day, if that, with the extra wide. They are good if you are after the messy wave/curl look though where the wide width are definitely a lot tighter.

Curls made with the extra long and wide Curlformers. Definitely more versatile, can leave them tight or brush them out so they look messy.

In all honesty, I have never found a product that curls my hair as well as Curlformers do, that includes heat tools such as curling irons. Also I like that you can leave them in and go about your business and then quickly take them out.

I hope you learnt something new today. I have purchased all these products myself and am in no way, shape or form being reimbursed for this post.

Happy Blogging my Lovelies xo

P.S. Keep an eye out for my video tutorial with Curlformers
