OOTD : 25th December, 2014 - Christmas is Here!

The day people have been waiting for, or not, is here! I feel like Christmas brings out the worst in people though! Mum was supposed to be working today so we had planned to not do anything today and instead have a proper lunch on Saturday but because she injured herself she doesn't have to go to work so we were going to have lunch at my dad's grandmothers instead.

My dad's grandmother, however, declared that we were not welcome because she doesn't really like my mum.. Even though my mum has been the only one who has been available to help out when she has needed it with doctors appointments and hospital visits. My dad's father then said that if we weren't welcome that he wouldn't be going either so we ended up going to Newcastle to my Grandfather's house for lunch.

Let me tell you, it was the most relaxed Christmas lunch I have ever experienced with extended family. Well, just my grandfather and uncle.. Still, it was nice to not have to make stupid amounts of smalltalk to old people who didn't really care for what you were saying!

Does anyone else experience family dysfunction over Christmas? Its sort of like how funerals bring out the best or the worst in people!

OOTD : 24th December, 2014 - Twas The Night Before Christmas

Today we didn't really do much until the evening where we ventured into the city for diner and for a little walk around to have a look at the lights around the city. First stop was dinner, we ate at a place called Bar 100, it was delicious! Afterwards we got a taxi to the cathedral because mum wanted to go to mass. While mum was at mass my dad, sister and I hung around Hyde Park taking photos of things waiting for mum to finish, turns out, mum walked into the middle of the earlier mass... Talk about embarrassing! Ha. 

Afterwards we waited until the light projections started at 8:30pm and while we waited there were people singing carols. The lights projected onto the cathedral are amazing!

These are now my most favourite leggings! They are so comfortable and are super high waisted so they hold me in and what not! 10/10 would recommend!

OOTD : 23rd December, 2014 - Pavlova Practice

Today mum and I went grocery shopping for the rest of the stuff we will need for Christmas day. We also got the ingredients for pavlova because I had never made it from scratch and I wanted to try to, our new place also has a good oven which doesn't hurt. All of our other places had shitty ovens that would either burn everything or not cook things properly and no in between.

Our pavlova was beautiful, then we started to eat it!

OOTD : 22nd December, 2014 - Doggy Doo-Doo

Today I had nothing to do for most of the day. Dad was flying in tonight though so I had to drive to the airport sine my is unable to with her injured ankle. We were really early to the airport though so ended up getting something to eat while dads plane landed and then headed on home.

Again, another riveting day in my life!

In other news, our neighbours got a dog without applying for it through housing corporation and it has literally shit everywhere to the point that the smell is wafting into our house. I emailed housing corporation to see if they could get them to clean it up, turns out because they hadn't applied for a dog they were going to get into much more trouble than being told to clean it up. Anyway, they have been told that they have to clean up after it everyday!

I feel bad for the poor dog though, its a labrador and it has no yard and cries constantly. Alright now that its a puppy and still little but it aint going to stay that little for long! Then they're going to have a real problem!

Why do people buy pets when they do not have room for them?

OOTD : 21st December, 2014 - Another Trip to the Doctors

This morning I had to take mum to the doctors again about her ankle to get her a doctors certificate for work since her boss doesn't want her going back to work until its better and she has had physiotherapy. I then did the grocery shopping really quickly and went home.

Seriously, my life is so exciting!

OOTD : 20th December, 2014 - An Ankle Injury & Wicked

So last night while on night shift my mum fell and rolled her ankle and has been in bed ever since she got home. Today I had to take her to the doctors to make sure it wasn't anything more serious, she has to get x-rays on Monday but the doctor is pretty sure that it is just a sprain and that with rest, ice and elevation it should fix itself.

It does meant that she is unable to work for the next week or so, she had to call her boss today and let them know and she is eligible for compensation since it happened on her work grounds.

Tonight my sister and I went in to the city to see Wicked. I have been dying to go since I was in year 11, in 2010. I wanted to go so badly back then but we missed out on tickets because we left it to late because my sister didn't want to go. I was not missing out this time!

Wicked was amazing, I was hoping to meet some of the cast at the stage door afterwards but they had to rush off to Carols in the Domain. The show was so good, the music was spectacular and the sets were to die for! I desperately want to go and see it again before it finishes in Sydney at the end of January! I want a selfie with Elphie, seriously!

The Time Dragon Clock was super cool, is it sad that I want a robotic dragon on my wall now? Too freaky? By this time, I was so excited, the anticipation was too much and my sister thought I was legitimately going to hyperventilate and faint! Seriously, I had waited a long time for this moment.
