OOTD : 30th July, 2014 - Job Interviews & Haul Videos

As you already know if you read this blog regularly, I had a job interview for a small publishing company this morning. I think it went okay but I have made a point not to get confident about job opportunities to avoid disappointment. I also have a phone interview for a job running Segway tours in the Sydney Olympic Park area which has the potential to be super fun!

Heres hoping something comes out of this, if not I will just continue scraping by and applying for everything that I am qualified for or interested in.

Other than that, I filmed a haul for the month of July today.. Don't really know if you can even call it a haul, it only had 5 items and only one clothing item and one pair of shoes, the rest were hair related. Oh well, its exporting now!

Also lodged my tax return, cheers to productivity!

My camera was being a little temperamental today and would not focus to save its life!

I have noticed in the last week or so that the days are getting much longer and much warmer now that we are heading out of the worst of winter now. I have really enjoyed the last few days in terms of weather, they've been super nice!

OOTD : 29th July, 2014 - Playgroup & Trivia

Today I helped out at playgroup. It was Cathie, Annie and Josiah's last time which was a little sad, we did have a party though. So much food was eaten (not by me) and so many children were on sugar highs by the end of it. Afterwards I came home, had a phone interview, had a nap and then headed off to trivia where we came first.

I also have a job interview tomorrow morning for the same company I had a phone interview for this morning, fingers crossed! If the pay rate is good enough and I like the people (since its a home-run business) then I am sure that I will be all for it!

Anyway, I'll let you know how that goes tomorrow.

OOTD : 28th July, 2014 - This Hair Is On Fire

So last night wasn't as much of an early night I was hoping. My second wind hit at around 9pm and I was wide awake well into the am, unfortunately. Today was a long day though. I got up and had to shampoo and dry my hair so I could dye it, while waiting for  it to dry I bought a second-hand denim dress on a facebook share page on a whim and went straight away to pick it up and then came back to dye my hair.

Now, I was meant to take pictures and stuff of the process but I was so concerned about not getting dye anywhere in the bathroom that I totally forgot. I put a towel down on the floor with my desk chair pad over it and newspaper all over the counters. I also had cleaning wipes on hand in case of any splatters or anything and I can proudly say that my bathroom is just as it was before this whole process. Getting dye stains in my bathroom was the biggest worry I had about this whole thing really!

Anyway, I was looking to end up with something strawberry blonde like Blake Lively and I watched a tutorial on YouTube and used the exact same process that I watched but mine is (well, I think it is) much more orange than strawberry but I love it nonetheless! I hated it at first to be honest because one really blonde bit of hair at the front is much more orange than the rest but once it was styled and I had a few hours to really take it in I found that I actually love it! It'll fade super fast anyway!

I also have a phone interview with a publishing company tomorrow, fingers crossed that all goes well!

It was so nice and warm today that I didn't need a jacket until the sun went down. Plus I was pretty much in and out of the shower all day! Haha.

To achieve this look with my hair I used one tub of Manic Panic Pastelizer and half a tub of Manic Panic Wildfire, if you would like to watch the video I watched you can view it here! 

The colour took much better in the places of my hair that have been processed before, my roots, not so much! Theres still a hint of redness in my roots and unprocessed hair but it isn't as bright as my processed hair, mainly because the hair that was processed was also much lighter than my roots!

Anyway, tomorrow I have playgroup in the morning, a phone interview in the afternoon and trivia in the evening. It shall be fun!

OOTD : 27th July, 2014 - So Long, Farewell

Today I went to church because it was the last service that David, Cathie and the kids would be at so we were throwing them a farewell lunch after church. During church I had the absolute pleasure of rocking a newborn boy to sleep, he is so cute! Little baby sneezes and all!

Lunch was okay but by the time to eat came around it had already been a good 3 hours of church and speeches so not only were the kids pretty rowdy but I was pretty close to gnawing at my arm because I had stupidly skipped breakfast. But then I stuffed myself with lunch and then multiple servings of pavlova so it was all okay.

Anyway, I got back really late in the afternoon so I have just been dozing in my bed on my laptop and because I am already so sleepy I have my pyjamas on and it will probably be an embarrassingly early night. To be honest I think I need it though!

In hindsight I realise that I probably should of worn something a little nicer, everyone else was dressed pretty nicely since it was such a special occasion but I also think that I pretty much lived at David and Cathie's place at one point and they have seen me in much more daggy outfits!

Ehh.

This week is the last week of holidays, I am ready to go back to uni and be using my brain again though, but at the same time I really want to enjoy this last week and have it be refreshing.

OOTD : 26th July, 2014 - Slowly Does It

Today I got up and had the house to myself so I made breakfast and watched Law & Order SVU in the lounge room. Then I started cleaning my room by putting all of my clothes away as well as properly unpacking from my trip back home. My room still needs a proper clean but I am just going to go at it slowly for the last week of holidays so that its done by the time I go back to uni,  no rush.

I also went out to the shops because the house across the road was being auctioned this afternoon and I really didn't want to be around for the mania and parking chaos that would of been my street this afternoon. I did end up purchasing some hair dye so maybe you'll see me sporting some different coloured locks next week. I want to do it during the week but I am really concerned about spillage and stuff because I don't want to stain my bathroom for obvious reasons.

Anyway, when thats done I am sure you will know!

Firstly, this top is super difficult to wear unless you want to go down the painful strapless bra route! Hence why I wore a jacket that wouldn't be too warm to wear inside.

OOTD : 24th & 25th July, 2014 - Emotional

So, I had a bit of a rocky day yesterday so I decided not to post last night and instead had a super long shower and went to bed to sleep it off!

24th July, 2014

Today I had ESL creche from 10am to midday. It all went pretty smoothly until the last 20 minutes where within a thirty second time-frame a girl fell on her face and had a nosebleed, a little boy jammed his fingers in a door while another girl peed on the carpet. Seriously!? It had been going so smoothly up until this point. By the time I left I was so exhausted!

I went home and just hung around and relaxed in the afternoon. Then my mum dropped in and while she was here the lady I lived with said that I would need to move out in December because she has family coming to stay for two months. Like the anxiety ridden person that I am of course I burst into tears. Apparently while I was gone she clarified to my mum that I only needed to so for the two months and could store my stuff here and what not which seems a little better but the way she said it initially sounded like they wanted me gone and to not come back, hence the panicked cry.

She always says things and then it never happens so I am trying my hardest to keep it out of my mind because I love living here.

Which means I am also back to walking on eggshells because I feel super awkward that I cried.. But when I returned she seemed to have softened a bit, and no mention of it was made. The lady I live with had been a little off for the last couple of weeks so I am wondering if its more of a problem that she is having (coughmenopausecough) or if something else is going on for her to act so coldly.

Also, her kids didn't understand and thought she was being mean and wanted to comfort me but by that point I had left to wait out the front of the house for mum, not go up to my room like the kids thought.

I know by this point that this post is a jumbled mess, like my thoughts.

Today I just slept in, hung around at home for the morning, showered and washed my hair and then went to the shops for something to do. Then just came home for the evening, ducked out for some takeaway for dinner and here I am.

So exciting.

I was going to clean my room. I literally hung 3 jackets and was done with it, I guess you know what I will be doing tomorrow.

OOTD : 22nd & 23rd July, 2014 - Busy, Busy

I have been completely lacking in the blog post writing department, I apologise! But in order to catch up properly I have to post two days right now otherwise I will continue to get further and further behind!

22nd July, 2014

Today I knew I had something on in Surry Hills in the evening so I made the effort to get up early and go to the vintage shops in the area. I also thought that doing that would take up enough time for me to then go to trivia, which is what I had planned for the evening.. WRONG, so so wrong! I was done at around 1pm and had until 6:30pm before I was to be at trivia.

So I drove around and ended up at Westfield in Bondi where I purchased some grapes and a bottle of water and proceeded to sit at a lookout in Bondi for a few hours before heading to the Westfield in Eastgardens. By this point my phone was pretty much dead (thanks ios7) and I didn't know the directions to get to the specific pub I needed to be at for trivia so I stood in Dick Smith while I had my phone connected to a dock there, talk about awkward.

Anyway, made it to trivia! Had lots of fun too! One of the things was to draw a monkey but mine looked more like Tony Abbott, so I called it PM-onkey Tony Abbott and laughed about it lots!

I was so exhausted when I got home though that I pretty much crashed, hence the lack of update!

23rd July, 2014

Today I had to get up early (well for me anyway) to get the train into the city for a research discussion. Thinking it was going to be as warm as yesterday I only wore a super light cardigan and regretted my decision immediately when I was in the city surrounded by building. Its a glorified wind tunnel really!

After the discussion and me losing two toes due to the cold I went for a look around the shops before coming back home to run some errands and exhausting myself.

I had to go out again tonight so this afternoon I had a little nap to perk myself up a little bit, naps do wonders really!

Tonight I just went to a friends for dinner, I had never been to their house before and their yard is one of the most magical things I have ever seen! After stuffing myself stupid I came home, showered and here I am, writing this post for all of you lovelies!

OOTD : 21st July, 2014 - Meh

Today I slept in, stayed in bed until well into the afternoon just watching videos on YouTube and relaxing. Mum got home from work so I showered and had dinner before heading back to Sydney.

Can you say, exciting? Ha. 

That is all I did today. Apart from the part where I got back to Sydney, had another shower because I was freezing and got into bed which is where I am writing this from.

Heres to another pair of jeans that has tightened back up because of the dryer. Cheers to that!

OOTD : 20th July, 2014 - Complacent

Being home has made me so much more complacent about getting blog posts up on the day of. Seriously, I am pretty sure that they have been the day after since I have been home and I don't know why I find myself becoming more complacent about it while I am at home. Maybe its because I don't find myself attached to my laptop all day when I am at home compared to Sydney. I don't know, all I know is that I really need to pull myself out of this stupid rut that I am in.

My terrible sleep schedule is not helping things along at all!

Anyway, today I stayed home most of the day and then towards the late afternoon mum and I went to the shops for a little bit, then we had to pick up my sister and we got take-out on the way home. My sister was getting back into the car when it felt like a tyre busted or something because the back of the car dropped but it was someone reversing their aluminium tray ute into the side of our car.

This is why we can't have nice things!

OOTD : 19th July, 2014 - Ladies Day

So my brother had a soccer game today and it was also his teams annual ladies day. Pretty much where all the ladies turn up and get drunk as well as them, really thats it. It was super cold and windy though so I spent most of the time sitting in the car, fun times.

Afterwards they all move on into the pub that sponsors them so we all went in and had some dinner and a few drinks. All was well until Laura decided she wanted ice-cream and to go home and did nothing but complain for the last hour or so that we were there... 

And then she spent the whole trip home telling mum and I to shut up, to which I then yelled at her for being a brat so she went straight to her room in a rage when we got home. The joys of Aspergers, she is so irrational and must have things her way all the time, but thinks that everyone else is getting their way and not her.

Blergh.

OOTD : 18th July, 2014 - Homeward Bound

Today my mum called to let me know that she had three days off so I decided to come home for a few days. Packed in a rush, hoping I have everything I need! My room back in Sydney is a mess though, that'll be nice to return to, not!

Anyway, today I just drove home, did some shopping for mum and then helped cook dinner. I have just been watching tv and browsing the net tonight.

Home is sort of nice, especially now that my sister is back at work so mum and I got some time alone today! Also, mum was making me a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich today for lunch.. Took a few bites, she had forgotten the cheese.. Was too excited to put the top piece of bread on and forgot, we laughed so hard!

The bathroom light at home is abysmal! But I tried!

OOTD : 17th July, 2014 - Workout & A Half

Today was the first week back at ESL creche since the holidays and it seemed like every non-english-speaker and their children came today. Between myself and another helper we had twelve children, and I have to say, I am feeling it. Not only had I had two weeks off, I also had to watch more kids than usual. My muscles ache, I was dead tired when I got home that I practically passed out for two hours in the afternoon and I am betting now that I am going to be even sorer in the morning.

Also, had a bit of a freak out because I thought I had knocked my earring out while washing my hair in the shower, no, my stud hat just begun the recede into my ear because its tiny and the gauge earring that my ear was pierced with was much bigger so its pulling through. I know I should get a bigger stud but I can't fit one next to my other earring and this is the first set of earrings that hasn't irritate my ears or corroded inside of them (like my previous pair)... Its not sore or anything and I have been cleaning it so fingers crossed it'll be all good!

OOTD : 16th July, 2014 - Insomnia

I am back to a cycle of barely sleeping during the night, I know that thats the way my insomnia happens but this cycle of not sleeping has really surprised me. For a few months I barely sleep and then I sleep too much for a few months and then it goes around and around viciously. 

Blergh, I hate laying awake until the sun begins to rise. I know partially that this cycle was brought on because of my bad eating and sleeping habits during study time but they surprise me a lot as well. Like, I am not stressed or anything at the moment but I am still having lots of trouble getting to sleep. Maybe its because I am not exhausting my brain enough because I am on uni break or something. Either way, I am ready for a good nights sleep that doesn't require medication!

Today I planned on going vintage shopping but it was raining this morning and frolicking in the wet wasn't my idea of fun so I postponed it and just spent the day at home, again. Went out for a little bit this evening though which was nice!
