OOTD : 30th & 31st August, 2014 - Quick Trip

30th August, 2014

Today I had to inspect a place for my mum and sister to live in if they move down here. I loved it so we applied for it, I really hope we get it and end up moving there. It's super close to uni but because my sister hasn't got a job locked in we are unsure about the location. She has got a second interview at the uni on Wednesday and we are all really hoping she gets it so we can live in that house and walk to uni and work.

Heres hoping things go to plan, haha!

After the inspection I decided to head home for the night because dad is home and my brother and his girlfriend were coming over for a seafood feast, yum! We ate, drank and were relatively merry!

Thought I would break this coat out of hiding, its not often that its cool enough for me to wear it. It makes me itch like nothing else though, unfortunately.. No pain no gain, right?!

Anyway.

31st August, 2014

Today I got up, used all the milk which annoyed dad because he wanted coffee - my bad.. Then I got ready, packed up and headed off with Laura. We dropped into one of her friends place and they have a baby so we spent a few hours there and had lots of cuddles.

We got to Sydney around peak hour, it was okay since its the weekend. I went to my place and filled the people I live with about the potential move and I got the feeling that they couldn't get rid of me fast enough. Uncomfortable much! Good thing I can hang at the hotel with my sister for most of the week!

Anyway, we have just gone shopping for some groceries this week and shared a chicken stir-fry. Now we are laying in bed watching tv but need to have an early night so I am sure we will head to sleep soon!

Skirt : Target (funny story about this, I'll write it below!)

Tights : Curvaceous by RazzaMattaz

Okay, so I put on my City Chic Pleather Cut-Out skirt on and got the zipper stuck on the top and then in doing that the zip split while still being stuck on my top so I had to slide my whole outfit off to get the top out of the zip and now the skirt needs a new zipper which is why I wore the same skirt two days in a row.

It wasn't a problem until mum told me that my zipper wasn't up properly which is when I got it stuck on my top.. Oh well, take that to get fixed , I think I could do it if I bought a zipper but I can just pay to get it done...

Anyway, I hope you have all had a great day! Hopefully I will manage to get a haul filmed around the hectic week I have planned!

OOTD : 29th August, 2014 - One Year On

Today marks the one year anniversary of my grandmothers death. My dad was driving from Wollongong to Newcastle to see his family for it and got 20 minutes out of Wollongong and his engine blew in the car. He had to be towed back and then hired a car, lets just say that the day didn't really go to plan for anyone.

I had a class this morning because I missed my usual one on Wednesday because my mum and sister were here and having a tutorial from 10-11am meant that the day felt like it went forever!

I was in bed by 8:30pm - not that I was ever going to go to sleep at that time!

I also went to Officeworks today to attempt to ignite my passion for university work, it didn't happen. I am so unmotivated and now that I have work piling up its even harder to get a start on it! Fingers crossed that by the end of the weekend I will have made some sort of progress in the work department!

OOTD : 28th August, 2014 - Fighting

Today I had ESL creche in the morning, which went by pretty slowly. Might have something to do with the fact that as per usual I stayed up way later than I had initially intended and didn't allow myself enough time to get a proper sleep!

Smart idea..

Anyway, after creche I went and got a haircut and treatment.. It is much shorter than I intended but hair grows and it'll be back to its magnificent self in no time! Also, it probably needed a good cut, nothing like getting rid of all of the split ends and damage!

Also, still looking at real estate. My mum was told that she was successful in her application for the one we looked at yesterday with the matchbox bedrooms but there is one I am really interested in looking at and she is worried that if she doesn't say yes to this one that she will be homeless but to be honest I don't want to live in a room the size of a cupboard and there are so many more benefits of living at the one I am interested in.

We fought about that all day!

Anyway, we have come to the conclusion that I will inspect that one on Saturday on her behalf and submit an application and hopefully we will know soon enough so that if we don't get it that we can still accept the one that has been offered to us.. Rentals are hard but I feel like we are pretty strong candidates for this place on Saturday.

Fingers crossed for me please!

Anyway, it is well past midnight and I have a catch-up class at 9am because I skipped one yesterday because we were busy inspecting places and I just want to go in and get that over with so I can begin to focus on uni a bit since it is week four and I have literally done no work except for a class quiz and a two hour lecture. Out of what is bound to be about twenty hours of lectures that need to be watched by now!

Wish me luck!

I hope you all had a wonderful day, hopefully your'e being more productive than me.. Wouldn't be hard since I am showing no signs of productivity!

Ha.

OOTD : 27th August, 2014 - Real Estate Hell

This morning mum and my sister got up and went out for breakfast while I had an extra hour of sleep, when they got back I got ready and we headed off to drop my sister to her job interview. While she was in her interview mum and I rang real estate agents like crazy people with a little bit of luck. We managed to view three properties, none are what I deem suitable but mum put in an application for one of them anyway, the only problem is that the bedrooms are so small I doubt that queen sized beds will fit in them with room to walk around them.

Other than that we spent much of the day tired and frustrated which then lead to us taking it out on each other and when I got home that night after being away for a few days it was super tense in the house. My mum, who has been wondering if I am being too sensitive, also said that she felt uncomfortable..

Take that! Its not just me being paranoid!

Anyway I pretty much just headed straight to my room and then headed out at around 7pm and didn't get back until they were all in bed. Mission "avoid the people I live with" was a success!

OOTD : 26th August, 2014 - Sydney Bound

Today I dropped mum off to uni and then went back to the hotel for a bit before I had to pack the car and check out. I then went and hung around at the uni while she finished her classes so we could then head on back to Sydney. By this point my sister had been asked to attend a job interview in Sydney so as we left Bathurst she was getting on a train to Sydney from Newcastle so we could pick her up from the train station as we were passing through.

My mum and sister were staying at a hotel for the night and I felt too awkward to go home so I stayed with them and the three of us top and tailed in the king sized bed. I sleep right on the edge of the bed anyway so I slept pretty well, we were just proving to ourselves that we could live in a studio if we needed to. Ha! It reminded me of my cousin speaking about how Charlie's family in Willy Wonka were poor because they slept in the same bed and had a hole in their roof, made me laugh!

Which brings me to my next point which I forgot to mention the day of. I was supposed to be going to Forster this weekend for my aunts 40th birthday. We all rearranged our schedules for uni and work to fit it in for her to cancel it after we had booked the hotel 6 days before the party because she was sick! Now I don't know about you, but when I get sick I usually expect to be past it within a few days, let alone six! Also, my cousin changed schools and my aunt and uncle were too lazy to even drop him off on his first day, talk about emotionally traumatic! Blergh, thinking about them is making my blood boil!

Anyway, thats it for today. Other than trawling real-estate and dreading telling the people I live with about my plans to move so soon I haven't done anything else today! Well, except a trip to McDonalds and the local pub for dinner, if that even counts as eventful!

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 25th August, 2014 - Car Trips & Pizza Hut

Today I got up and had to drive mum to uni so I could have the car for the day in case I wanted to do something. We went to McDonalds for breakfast, well, for her.. I only got some juice! Then I dropped her off, went to the chemist and went back to the hotel to do some uni work and stuff.

I headed into the uni to have lunch with mum for an hour and then went back to the hotel for a bit before she needed to be picked up. We then went to the shops in the afternoon for a bit and then drove out to Orange. In Orange we drove past an 'all you can eat' Pizza Hut so we decided to go there for dinner, since not that many exist over here anymore - we stuffed ourselves stupid, well, it felt like that. In reality I probably ate half a pizza and some dessert.

Anyway, I drove us back to Bathurst, surprised that I wasn't sick from dinner since I tend to have issues with oily food, but I hadn't really eaten that day apart from some juice and a handful of Pringles.

Also, I discovered my bed had an electric blanket so I had that on all evening, so good - well, apart from the dehydration!

I was back into wearing my boots in because my other ones were faulty so got replaced. These ones were rubbing like nobody's business, hopefully it passes soon. I think it was because I wore them all day, from the morning well into the night and usually I only wear them for a few hours tops.

Anyway, mum and I have spent the evening in my super toasty bed looking at Sydney real estate because she is considering moving to Sydney with my sister and if that happens I can move home which will be nice. Fingers crossed! Also, I am hoping we can stay in the area I am already in so hopefully something comes up in terms of rentals that works out for us!

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

OOTD : 24th August, 2014 - Bathurst Bound!

Today I got up and watched some more CSI (no surprises there) and then got a call from mum saying that she was going to be in Sydney in two hours to see me on her way to Bathurst. I realised that I don't have any class until Wednesday so I decided to go with her while she has residential school for two days.

I realise that there isn't much for me to do in Bathurst but I have wifi in the hotel so I can get some uni work done - which is probably what I would have been doing had I stayed in Sydney anyway. This way just means I have less avenues of procrastination really!

Car trip was good, its a little cold here but nothing I can't handle - Mum made me listen to a song/poem though and it struck me a little so I thought I would share it here!

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of ’99
Wear sunscreen
If I could offer you only one tip for the future
Sunscreen would be it

The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists
Whereas the rest of my advice
Has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience
I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth
Oh, never mind
You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself
And recall in a way you can’t grasp now
How much possibility lay before you
And how fabulous you really looked
You are not as fat as you imagine

Don’t worry about the future
Or worry
But know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind
The kind that blindside you at 4 PM on some idle Tuesday
Do one thing everyday that scares you

Sing

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts
Don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours

Floss

Don’t waste your time on jealousy
Sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind
The race is long
And in the end, it’s only with yourself

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults
If you succeed in doing this, tell me how

Keep your old love letters
Throw away your old bank statements

Stretch

Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life
The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives
Some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t

Get plenty of calcium

Be kind to your knees
You’ll miss them when they’re gone

Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t
Maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t
Maybe you’ll divorce at 40
Maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary

Whatever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either
Your choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s
Enjoy your body
Use it every way you can
Don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it
It’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own

Dance

Even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them
Do not read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly

Get to know your parents
You never know when they’ll be gone for good

Be nice to your siblings
They are the best link to your past
And the people most likely to stick with you in the future

Understand that friends come and go
But for the precious few you should hold on
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle
Because the older you get, the more you need the people you knew when you were young

Live in New York City once
But leave before it makes you hard
Live in Northern California once
But leave before it makes you soft

Travel

Accept certain inalienable truths
Prices will rise
Politicians will philander
You too will get old
And when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young
Prices were reasonable
Politicians were noble
And children respected their elders

Respect your elders

Don’t expect anyone else to support you
Maybe you have a trust fund
Maybe you have a wealthy spouse
But you never know when either one might run out

Don’t mess too much with your hair
Or by the time you're 40, it will look 85

Be careful whose advice you buy
But be patient with those who supply it
Advice is a form of nostalgia
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off
Painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth

But trust me on the sunscreen

OOTD : 22nd & 23rd August, 2014 - Cleaning and Naps

22nd August, 2014

Today I got up and cleaned my room massively, from top to bottom and back to front. It had been a while since my room had been cleaned because I had been unwell and busy - and if I am completely honest, a little uncaring about the state of my room. Trips home didn't help either!

Anyway, afterwards I watched endless amounts of CSI and printed off some uni stuff to attempt to get more motivated for the semester. Didn't really work, not yet..

In the evening I ventured out to Chatswood to go to Kmart, and avoid the house, and got McDonalds for dinner to kill more time. Fingers crossed the lady I live with goes back to work ASAP!

23rd August, 2014

Today I slept in super late, and by super late I mean 1pm - and still then I stayed in bed on my laptop until after 3pm. Once I got hungry, I went out to avoid the house and got a kids meal at Oporto - finished it surprisingly but felt super full and gross afterwards..

Went to college to visit some friends and ventured home once I knew it was late enough that the people I live with would be in bed.

OOTD : 21st August, 2014 - Another Day, Another Rule

Today I had ESL in the morning which went by awfully slowly. Then I came home, hung out in my room and had a nap. Went to the shops in the evening and when I returned the people I live with requested that I don't wear my shoes upstair anymore because they don't want to ruin the floorboards and they don't.

This whole thing is a little irritating for me because firstly, I have been wearing my shoes upstairs since I moved here in February, if it was really an issue I feel like they would of, or should of, said something earlier and secondly, its winter and this house is massive and all tiles and floorboards which means its super cold. I physically cannot walk around this place without something on my feet. Thirdly, when I first moved in because it was summer I did (most of the time) leave my shoes on the deck out the front before entering the house but then they complained that it looked messy and that I should put my shoes away, i.e. in my room.

Seriously, see the problem with this situation? No matter what I do I can't win but I have to stick by their silly rules of the day because I have no rights if they decide they don't want me living here anymore since they didn't want any contractual agreement.

Now, I know that recently I have done a lot of complaining about the housing situation but for the most part it is great and I am really trying to stick it out but don't be surprised if I spring another move out of nowhere! I am in no way trying to make my situation look bad, these are just the current frustrations I am having and I am more than aware that I am lucky to be in a situation where I do have a roof over my head! I just don't think I am going to be completely satisfied with any place where I have to march to the beat of someone else's drum because not only am I fiercely independent but I am also stubborn - The day where I have the financial ability to have my own place will be one of the happiest days of my life!

Anyway.

OOTD : 19th & 20th August, 2014 - Doodle Dogs & Tutorials

Again, I got way too tired last night and forgot to post so am squishing two days into one post... Again!

19th August, 2014

Today I had playgroup, which as usual was hectic and over fast. Afterwards I headed home for the afternoon and just relaxed. I am feeling super run down as late, I am still attempting to shake the cough left from whatever infection I had earlier in the month.. Cheers to that! *coughnotcough*

Ha.. Get it?

Anyway, I went off to trivia, took me an hour and a half to get from the Ryde area to the city. Not so fun! Seriously, I am over the traffic part - an hour and a half for a trip that takes twenty minutes tops in no traffic is so awful!

Trivia was hilarious, one of thee questions was to draw a dog in space. I attempted to draw Goofy, looked more like a human body, dog face with a doodle stuck on its face where the nose should of been. I kept it because it was so hilarious - well, apart from the part where I was teased about it all night.. Its all good, it was worth the laugh!

OOTD : 18th August, 2014 - Rainmageddon

Last night, it poured rain... All night long, it was sort of nice to sleep listening to it but it wasn't so nice this morning when I had to go out to uni in it with no idea of where I put my umbrella when I moved. So, I got drenched at uni and then had to go to my driving test.

There is nothing worse than those moments after a driving test when you begin to wonder if you passed or failed and then you begin second-guessing your answers until you're a panicked mess, so much so that by the time they tell you that you have passed you're way beyond the point of return. Also, leads to some nice licence photos - I was focusing today so hard on looking straight ahead that I actually began to shake because every little movement felt like a big movement because I was concentrating so hard.

Anyway, not as bad of an experience than the poor lady who fell in the parking lot in the rain and had to be taken away in an ambulance.

Just to reiterate, yes I did pass my driving test! I felt a little bad though because there was a girl next to me doing one as well and she failed and we got told our results at the same time because we finished at the same time. Well, what can you do!

I did wear my Colorado boots but they were faulty and had some stitching come undone so I exchanged them for a non-faulty pair this afternoon and wore flats home from the shops instead to avoid trying to get boots on.

Also, I thought I would show you my license photo for shits and giggles - they are the most unflattering things of all time and mine only exacerbated the fact.

Hello lazy eye!

That is the face of someone who was concentrating so hard on looking straight ahead and staying still that I forgot to keep my eyes open properly - DOH! Only have that bad boy for five years, five years for me to get better looking hopefully!

Hahahaha.

Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely day!

OOTD : 17th August, 2014 - Back To Sydney

This morning I packed all my stuff up ready to go back to Sydney. Mum had to head off to work at around 1pm so I left when she went to work to go back to Sydney. Nothing really exciting to mention about the trip - lost a hubcap, may he rest in peace on the side of the road he will eventually end up... Seriously though, my hubcap always falls off my front passenger side wheel, super annoying - I have lost three now and only have one replacement left when the one thats on it now inevitably falls off.

Anyway, I got back to Sydney and dropped my stuff off to the house and then went to the shops because the girls had lots of friends over. After the shops I went to visit some friends from college which was nice and then came home once the girls were in bed.

Other than that I have just been reading up on the Driver Qualification Test because I can go for my full unrestricted license tomorrow and I am going at 1pm for my test. Fingers crossed!
