This is going to be the first post about things I bought after Christmas. I decided to do two posts because I went a little crazy online again this week because there are still some really good deals online on websites such as Asos and City Chic. I also got my Bella Brushes and thought that it would be good to show them to you as well.. So this time next week will be the Part II. I also figured that it was a good idea because on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of next week I will be doing three full days of work and probably wont have any outfits up for you and I figured that a second part could fill out a couple of those days if I post a blog post one day and the haul video on another day! Also a January round up post will be needed for in that time too.
Look at me actually putting some thought into the scheduling of posts on my blog! I am finally getting this blogging business, I mean for the most part my OOTD posts are each evening (used to be mornings) and pretty casual but I need to get better at planning..
Anyway, thats not why we are here.
I think doing a blog post accompanying a video for hauls is good because you can write about things you didn't perhaps realise when filming, you forgot something or you want to show more detail in photographs of the item.
So here it is, the items will be in the order they appear on the video.
From City Chic
Shoulder Drape Dress
RRP : $99.95 SALE : $40
Now I know these pictures are a little (or a lot) low quality. Thats because my mirror seems to have a misty film on it that I cannot remove to save my life!
This dress is amazing without the belt to start with but the belt just adds that little bit extra. I feel really sexy in this dress, it skims all of my curves without being clingy and I love the shape it gives me when I have the waist cinched by the belt. Also, this piece is so versatile! It can easily go from a casual day out to a night out depending on what you wear with it.. For an extra casual look you could pair it with a coloured skinny belt and for nighttime pair it with a super fabulous belt like the one I have in the picture above!
I would definitely recommend this dress for anyone! If you were unsure about it, go for it! If you're interest has piqued after reading this, then check it out on the City Chic website in the sale section!
Oriental Floral Maxi Dress
RRP : $119.95 SALE : $40
I am not usually a fan of maxi dressed but this one has converted me! The floral and stripe detail is to die for and I like the length, not awkwardly short on me at all which is the problem I usually have with maxi dresses!
I definitely get boho vibes from this dress! Hopefully I get some wear out of it before the warmth is gone! I didn't photograph it with a belt but it does have belt loops which I think will polish it off nicely.
Sexy Back Jacket
RRP : $129.95 SALE : $40
A very nicely structured jacket, made with a material that feels thick and warm, almost like neoprene. I thought that the cut out on the back looked a little cheap at first but I think it will be especially nice with dresses that are strapless or spaghetti straps so it will just be bare skin under the mesh. Otherwise I think it would be a little busy like you can see in the picture above, two different items of clothing vying for attention!
I think if you were super smart about it, you may be able to get away with this in an office environment!
Drapey Summer Jackey
RRP : $50 SALE : Unsure!
This jacket is nothing special. Just a black cotton jacket, relaxed fit yada yada. To be honest though, I think this will get lots of wear from me! I love wearing things like this all the time because I find that I am always too cold to wear nothing over my tops but too warm to wear a proper jacket! Hopefully this item of clothing stops that problem!
The no collar thing means that it can be casual or you can dress it up or perhaps wear a collared shirt over it with the collar over the lapel, or whatever it is when you don't have lapels...
I think if you ironed this you would get away with wearing it to an office for work or something!
Mono Floral Skater Dress
RRP : $99.95 SALE : $40
You can also see this dress photographed with the jackets! I really love this dress, I wore it for the first time on Thursday and went shopping and a girl complimented me on it and it made me feel so good about myself (not that I don't feel good about myself normally) but it is really nice for others to see you for something other than being bigger!
This dress also came with a belt but it looks just as good without it!
I really like City Chic skater dresses, I am pretty sure they all use the same pattern if they have the same neckline as this because this dress fits exactly the same as my black skater dress with the cut out on the chest! Always super flattering and versatile and always a perfect length!
Lace Corset Top
RRP : $69.95 Bought Full Price
Ignore the obvious bra and the fact that its unzipped!
I originally bought the Satin Corset Top but it was strapless and when I got home I was a little concerned about having G-Cup boobs in it and staying in it so when I saw a photo of this top on the City Chic facebook page I decided to switch for this one! I have no idea why I said I was concerned about my broad shoulders in the video because although that does worry me a little it didn't really cross my mind as the reason why I switched them... Awkward
I really like the back of this top, I am a little concerned that people will attempt (and probably succeed) to unzip this which would be so embarrassing. One issue I do have is that I find it really difficult to zip it up on myself, bras I can do up with no issues but a zipper? Nope. Especially because it is like a jacket zipper where it completely separates, getting the zip into the channel is the hardest part but I think once you had a little practice you should be okay!
From Asos Curve & New Look Inspire
Floral Foil Top - New Look Inspire
RRP : ??? SALE : $20 Approximately
A super soft t-shirt with a super cute pattern! Can't go wrong really! Although I would encourage those used to Asos Curve sizing to perhaps size up for New Look items, they are a little smaller and unforgiving compared to Asos items.. I guess if you were on the bigger end of a size you should size up!
Also, this shirt is a little short for my tastes but I am still going to get lots of wear out of it, I might just have to wear a singlet under it for the extra length... Or consider never lifting my arms, ever!
Crochet Collar Top - New Look Inspire
RRP : ??? SALE : $20 Approximately
Ahh, the return of the Peter Pan Collar! I love collars and I find it especially hard to find tops with nice collars so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this online!
I can't wait to pair it with a high waisted skirt of some sort! I think it would be totally adorable!
Squeallllll.
Tile Print Tunic - New Look Inspire
RRP : ??? SALE : $30 Approximately
So when I was younger my sister had a dress that had a very similar print on it and I absolutely loved it but it was way too small for me because my sister had been dieting at the time! As soon as I saw this it took me back to a time where everytime Mum would bring out the ironing basket with that dress in it I would sit there wishing that I would fit into it one day and now I don't have to because I found something that gives me the same feeling that dress did minus the diet and multiple rib removals to fit into it!
I am so excited to layer this in winter but to also wear it by itself in summer! I think this is great for the seasons in between where it is a little cool but not cold enough for long sleeves!
So excite!
Denim Tunic - Asos Curve
RRP : $70 Approximately
Now I know there are no photographs of this item in this post. That is because it was a return, I do show it in the haul video which will be up super soon but after trying it on the first time I couldn't fathom putting it on again to take a picture of it.
Take my word for it, it was hideous! A denim moo-moo is not what I ordered.. To hear more about how disappointed I was about this outfit, you'll have to watch the video (this was not intentional of course but I was a little irritated about it when I filmed, hence the rant).
And that is the end of this post, I will be uploading the haul video very shortly and hopefully Part II will be coming to you this time next week (fingers crossed the packages are here soon so I can film, edit and photograph with heaps of time to get it to you)...
Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed reading about my purchases, I hope this has inspired you to perhaps buy something you were a little unsure about... Or something you've never seen before but like the look of!
Happy Blogging my Lovelies xo
